Arbor Investment Management
has always operated as an independent, fee-only Investment Advisor. We manage your
investment portfolio for a fee based on a percentage of assets under management –
we earn no sales or trading commissions and are not compensated from any other
source. Arbor Investment Management was founded under the fee-only structure to
ensure that our interests are squarely aligned with our clients’ interests. Since
our fee is tied directly to the value of your account,
our motivation is the same as yours — to increase the value of your assets.

Surprisingly, much of the investment industry is still
built on hidden fees inside mutual funds, annuities or other packaged products
created by firms and pushed to investors by an army of motivated salespeople.
Independent, fee-based Investment Advisors represent the main alternative to
the standard industry model, and are highly recommended as the best option for
investors by independent financial commentators. Even former Securities and
Exchange Commission Chairman, Arthur Levitt famously recommended to investors
“fire your broker and hire an investment manager” due to his belief that a
fee-based advisor relationship eliminated serious conflicts of interest for
investors.
As a Registered Investment Advisor, we have a fiduciary
responsibility to act in the best interests of our clients. As an independent
money management firm, we have no vested interest in any prepackaged
investment products or services typically offered by brokerage firms, banks,
and insurance companies. Instead, we are free to access the widest array of
options to select only the best investment opportunities available to
effectively and efficiently manage your portfolio.
The people of Arbor Investment Management are focused
on providing our clients the personalized wealth management services they
desire under a fair and straightforward fee structure. We believe this
simple concept is crucial to our ultimate goal of developing quality
long-term client relationships based on candid advice, openness, and
mutual benefit.
