As President of Arbor Investment Management, Stan Learman directs operations at the company's Ann Arbor, MI headquarters. He also serves as Chief Investment Analyst for the firm and as Portfolio Manager for client relationships throughout North America. With an expertise in fundamental investment valuation techniques and diversified portfolio construction, Stan has 21 years of experience in investment analysis and managing assets for high net worth investors.

Stan is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, and was awarded the use of the CFA designation by the CFA Institute. The Chartered Financial Analyst designation is awarded only after successful completion of rigorous testing requirements set by the Institute, and is maintained by continual adherence to the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. He is also a member of the Detroit Society of Investment Analysts.

Prior to his 21 years in the investment management industry, Stan was an engineer in the petroleum industry for Atlantic Richfield Corporation and in the automotive industry for Saturn Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and is an active volunteer for the March of Dimes. Stan lives in Saline, Michigan with his wife, Linda, and their sons, Joseph and Colin.

Senior Vice President

As a Senior Vice President for Arbor Investment Management, Matt Fahrney directs operations for the company in Colorado, provides internal investment research, oversees client relationships and manages client investment portfolios.

Matt brings over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. For the five years prior to joining Arbor he was a municipal bond portfolio manager for the hedge fund SAB (SB Value Partners), part of Investment Professionals, Inc. He also has over 15 years of experience in equity trading as both a NASDAQ market maker and proprietary trader, most notably with the Spear, Leeds & Kellogg and Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, Matt was a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch and TIAA-CREF.

Matt has fully completed the coursework and examinations needed to obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) certification, and thus brings a wealth of knowledge on a broad range of financial planning topics to the Arbor team. In addition, during his career, Matt has passed several securities industry licensing exams. He obtained the General Securities Representative License (Series 7) as well as the Series 63, 65 and 55. He has also held a Life and Health Insurance license in the past. He attended numerous courses on technical and fundamental analysis at the New York Institute of Finance while with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg.

Matt received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Yale University where he also played football. He currently resides in Lakewood, CO with his wife, Nathalie, and daughter, Olivia. They enjoy the outdoor lifestyle Colorado offers in all seasons.
